Australian Christian Heritage National Forum
National Forum on Australia’s Christian Heritage:
Its Importance in our Past and its Relevance to our Future
(Parliament House, Canberra on 6 & 7 August 2006)
Our Purpose is to:
Review the Christian contribution to the development of our nation.
Explore the alignment of Jesus’ values with distinctive Australian values:
Ø a fair go for all,
Ø humility in achievement above pride in success,
Ø acceptance of difference,
Ø passion in our commitments,
Ø the possibility of a fresh start for those who have made mistakes, and
Ø hope for the disadvantaged.
Foster more Investment in the development of our spiritual capital and in our identity as a ‘Christianised’ nation.
Build a broad-based coalition focussing on the issues of public policy that effect all Australians.
Desired Outcomes include:
- the free availability on the web of data on Australia’s Christian heritage
- the promotion of this data within the curricula of Australian schools
- having a positive influence on policy makers at all levels of government and community

The National Forum will have three plenary addresses and four seminars.
